Weather, disasters & civil emergencies · live radar

Alerts that escalate until you answer.

Most weather apps fire one notification and hope you saw it. Stormward escalates: email, then a push that buzzes your device even with the app closed, and it keeps going until you tap "I'm safe."

Free: one location, one emergency contact, escalating alerts, live radar. No card. Pro $18/year for more.

Why Stormward

One notification is easy to miss.

A phone weather app sends one notification and moves on. If your phone was on silent, in another room, or you were asleep, you missed it. When a dangerous alert lands, tornado, flash flood, evacuation, or hazmat, Stormward doesn't stop at one: it reaches you by email, then push, and keeps going until you tap "I'm safe." If you never do, it alerts the emergency contact you chose so someone can check on you.

It's live. Create a free account, add a location, and Stormward starts watching the National Weather Service for you, with escalating email and push alerts and the animated radar dashboard. Pro features are noted above; SMS and phone-call rungs are on the way.

What's free, and what's Pro?

Free covers one location, one emergency contact, escalating email and push alerts, and the live radar, no card required. Pro ($18/year) adds more locations, more emergency contacts, and soon SMS and phone-call rungs plus lightning. Founding members lock in $18/year for life, before the price goes up at full launch.

What does Stormward alert on?

Not just weather. The National Weather Service feed carries all-hazards emergencies: tornadoes, flash floods, and hurricanes, but also evacuations, shelter-in-place, hazmat and radiological warnings, and civil danger and law-enforcement warnings. Stormward escalates the life-threatening ones until you acknowledge. Civil coverage depends on local authorities relaying to the national system, so it is broad but not guaranteed everywhere.

Can I cancel, and how do refunds work?

Cancel anytime from inside the app. If something isn't right, reply to your Stripe receipt and we'll make it right. We'd rather refund you than keep money for something that didn't work for you.

Is Stormward an official warning source?

No. Stormward relays alerts from the National Weather Service and is a convenience layer, not a replacement for official sources. Always keep a NOAA Weather Radio or your local emergency channels for life-safety decisions.

Where does the data come from?

Alerts come straight from the National Weather Service public API (api.weather.gov), which carries all-hazards CAP alerts relayed from FEMA IPAWS and local authorities, not just weather. Radar is NEXRAD reflectivity. Stormward runs entirely on public, authoritative government data.

Safety notice. Stormward is an informational tool that relays National Weather Service data. It is not a substitute for official warnings, NOAA Weather Radio, or instructions from local emergency officials. Do not rely on it as your only source during life-threatening weather.
